Laser Welding & Laser Heat Treating |
Laser Welding From
shallow hermetic welds, to deep, narrow, high strength welds, laser welding is
a process with a proven record. With weld depths up to 1/4", laser welding
provides a strong fusion weld without the use of any filler material. Your
laser welding process can be developed by our experienced manufacturing
engineering staff.
Laser Heat Treating Laser heat treating
is best suited for the hardening of smaller areas or bands on larger parts. One
of the main benefits of laser heat treating is that a small area of a part can
be heat treated without affecting the structure of the entire part. Our heat
treating process can achieve depths from .01" to .10", depending on the width
of the pass and the cross-section of the part. |
Machining & Forming |
Machining Iowa
Laser's machining department is a perfect balance between traditional manual
machining operations and the production driven CNC machining. Our CNC systems
showcase the industry's standard for speed and accuracy for these types of
units. Our manual systems allow us to work with prototype and small run orders.
Forming Iowa Laser's CNC controlled press brakes make
accurate forming of parts easy. Our 6-axis, CNC controlled backgages, coupled
with precision tooling, give excellent repeatability and reduced setup times on
repeat orders. Our state-of-the-art press brakes, combined with highly trained
employees, will provide you with consistently formed parts. |
Conventional & Robotic Welding |
Welding Iowa
Laser's welding department is staffed with highly skilled and certified
welders. This, along with modern equipment and processes, allows us to provide
large complex assemblies to small, intricate components. We have the ability to
meet your welding needs.
Robotic Welding Iowa Laser has
worked diligently to stay on the leading edge of new technology in
manufacturing. The addition of robotic welding technology has allowed the
integration of time-tested processes with New Age technology. The robotic
process allows consistent welds, part after part, less operator fatigue, and
faster process time. |

Automated Steel Laser Cutting |
Iowa Laser has continued to
stay at the forefront of technology in our laser cutting systems. All of our
new systems are fully automated and consistently run unattended or "lights
out." We can process carbon steel up to 3/4", stainless to 1/2", and aluminum
to 1/4". We continue to add additional systems to ensure that we can provide
you with the very best lead times available. |
Laser Tube Cutting |
Laser cutting has proven to
be an effective form of tube processing. In applications that have
traditionally required machining, the laser can cut openings, contours, and
shapes in tubing. We can cut parts to length with miter cuts or square ends.
Iowa Laser can process 20' lengths of raw material, up to 6" in diameter, or 4"
square. Laser cutting is a very cost-effective means for all of your tube
processing needs. |
Multi-Axis Laser Cutting |
Traditionally, laser cutting
has been thought of as a two-dimensional process. However, more companies are
finding the benefits of our ability to utilize multi-axis laser cutting. Spun
metal parts, deep drawn parts or stamping are all great candidates for the use
of laser cutting. Our systems allow us to cut contours and shapes in your
components with minimum fixturing and setup time. |
