We
Manage Our Processes
So
You Can Focus On Your Customers
The
pressure is on you to shuffle quality products to your customer
while maintaining cost and delivery benchmarks. Your
daily list is manageable. But then you hear a customer
raving about a 'line down' quality problem. Or the old
machine in the shop breaks down. And no one told you
parts were late. You get behind. You get frustrated.
Sitting in the board room, all you can do is shake your head
and detail your plan for manuevering out of another crisis.
Iowa
Laser's job is to fit into an organizational chart like your
own manufacturing division, with one major distinction:
your success determines our future.
Today's delivery, quality, pricing and
availability has a
direct result on tomorrow's performance. If Iowa Laser doesn't perform better than your own
laser cutting department or supplier
every day, tomorrow may bring waving instead of welcoming. Years
of experience with family-owned businesses and corporations
have developed Iowa Laser's manufacturing process, supported
by an 'equal-opportunity' incoming PO system.
Trusting
Iowa Laser brings the benefits of:
- a
timely, thorough, and competitive quote.
- a manufacturing engineering project
review.
- first-come, first-served planning.
- properly maintained
equipment.
- an employee-driven Quality policy.
Excessive
Tolerances and Specifications = $$
Your
electronic drawing or print is the GPS for our shop.
Design and tolerance requirements are
the fluctuating cost drivers of parts. Unnecessary tolerances,
and the manufacturing processes required to meet those demands,
are the single greatest expense. Where
will your company be if your drivers take unnecessary roads
in manufacturing? We guarantee you won't be in Competition,
USA.
When
we receive your quote request, Iowa
Laser will communicate what we can achieve with our equipment.
How do we know? We perform CPK studies on our equipment
and processes under normal operating conditions. These
statistical studies developed our Shop
Tolerancing Program, giving you charted tolerances based
on our actual equipment performance.
Designing your parts with these tolerances will give you two
things:
-
the best attempt at 100% quality compliance on every
part, no matter the quantity, without additional costs for
verification processes,
- expedited
processing through our shop. Outsourced manufacturing
is more efficient when there are no gaps in
customer or supplier expectations.

Lasers
Don't Guarantee Higher Returns…Process and People Do
You
want the best value at the lowest cost. Modern equipment
- sheet lasers, tube lasers, and CNC press brakes - offer
many processing advantages to manufacturing. Through
the years, several of our customers purchased their own equipment.
In certain cases where planning was a
game-winning
strategy, the business transition was very fluid. But
many have resulted in major capital equipment expenditures,
investments in staffing, training, and maintenance, and then
led to further problems over the long term.
Outsourcing
your laser cutting is another option that can be equally cost-effective,
but the loss of internal control can bring excessive nail-biting.
Does your laser supplier have the communication
and proven results to meet your
needs? Or are their problems repeatedly determining
your performance on delivery, quality, and margins?
Your time spent solving supplier problems should be figured
into your Total Landed Costs (TLC) for an accurate assessment
of value.
Just
like your business, Iowa Laser is subject to the ebb-and-flow
of the market. Consistency and proactive management
determine the results. Iowa
Laser manages process and quality control through a certified
ISO9001:2000 program. Our delivery and quality results
are posted for your inspection. We encourage you to
uncover our open-door policy.
